Be ready for spring hummingbirds! Available for purchase are 15 seeds from my dwarf Columbine Aquilegia Biedermeier plants. These are a wonderful rock garden perennial or ground cover for sun or part shade. They are the first blooming plant in my spring garden to welcome the migrating hummingbirds. They are still blooming after the large-spurred and native species have finished. The flowers have beautiful medium spurs of white, pink, lavender, or purple, with white to light yellow trumpets. They are upward-facing to slightly nodding above sturdy, lacy foliage. They are larger than the minis, a compact 18" to 24", so plant them near the front of the border for close inspection. They also look amazing massed under large bushes. Columbine grows in almost any soil. They are reliable bloomers, and naturalize by self-seeding, without being "weedy", giving you years of enjoyment. Very little care is needed for these beauties, they are very hardy. I believe the "strong shall survive" in my garden. You will appreciate my motto!
